NEXT GENERATION FILM FESTIVAL: JUNE EDITION

As the summer sun wakes up in the north and winter begins to set in in the south, Future Shorts ONE unites the continents with the best in world short film for its June edition.

Showcasing a spectrum of films from 7 countries, the official June programme reveals heartfelt human stories from across the globe. In Big Day, rampaging Scandinavian schoolgirls experience the highs and lows of a big night. Sibling rivalry and body builders are the subject of Muscles. And in Rita, winner of the FS-judged Jury Prize at this years' Festival du cinema europeen de Lille, we are immersed in the claustrophobic world of a 10 year old blind girl.

June sees Australia don their party hats as they reach their official 1st birthday. In just 12 short months, FS Australia's Amy Broadfoot has grown to 7 locations across the country, with more promised in the coming months.

This month will see Amy and FS Founder and Director Fabien Riggall take part in Creative Sydney, discussing the development and sustainability of creative businesses throughout the country within the iconic surroundings of the Sydney Opera House.

Also celebrating in June is Reykjavik, Iceland, who join the Future Shorts family alongside Turkey and Georgia, all returning for their second months after their May launch.

In the UK, you can catch the official programme across the weekend at Norfolk's Glade Festival (9th - 12th June). Look out for the 2 Future Shorts Film Pods, which join regular shows in Edinburgh and Exeter throughout the month. For those heading towards the hedonism in Glastonbury this year, you can catch a special programme of Future Shorts films in the film tent.
