SHAKEDOWN IN THE SUNAs the world's glitterati descended on the French Riviera for this year's Cannes Film Festival, Future Shorts and sister event company Future Cinema brought a taste of the '60s to the Carlton beachfront, celebrating cinema in style. On Thursday 19th May, over 500 people descended upon "Chez Jacques" for a special event showcasing the official FS ONE May programme. The venue, run by Future Cinema on behalf of Stella Artois, was transformed into a decadent lounge, evoking the sights and sounds of the French New Wave. As members of the festival elite partied into the small hours after the screening, FS Founder and Director Fabien Riggall noted the bigger picture; “Future Shorts ONE looks to bring a global audience together to give short film wider recognition beyond the constraints of festivals and arthouse cinemas. Whilst hundreds of people attended the screening event in Cannes, the unique appeal of ONE is that they shared in the same experience and saw the same films as thousands around the world throughout the month”. The following evening, Future Cinema in partnership with Stella Artois kicked off the ultimate party to end the festival, screening the much anticipated "The Death and Life of Jacques D'Azur" within the glamourous surroundings. See pictures here and the film here. Future Shorts ONE returns around the world this June. Stay tuned for more details. |
